John Hill III, DNP, Chief Operating Officer at Knights Care LLC and Associate Professor at the University of Phoenix, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Doctors for dedication, achievements, and leadership in Healthcare Administration and Higher Education.

Dr. Hill has established himself in healthcare leadership, clinical operations and higher education, marked by a commitment to advancing long-term care and post-acute care services. Since 2023, he has been serving as the chief operating officer at Knights Care LLC, overseeing clinical operations. In this capacity, he manages consultants and coordinates daily operations, ensuring that clinical recommendations are implemented effectively across facilities. He is also responsible for operational restructures, team building within buildings, pro-forma development and facility analysis. Furthermore, Dr. Hill manages vendor relationships and contract analysis, ensuring that all contracted vendors fulfill their obligations.

Since serving in this capacity at Knights Care LLC, one of Dr. Hill’s most notable accomplishments stemmed from his expertise in clinical operations and long-term care, where he was instrumental in transforming the Manhattan VISTA facility from a $2 million annual loss to achieving positive earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization of approximately $1.8 million within nine months of his involvement. He considers this milestone among his most significant professional achievements.

Concurrently, since 2025, Dr. Hill has been engaging in training the next generation of professionals as an associate professor at the University of Phoenix, where he teaches healthcare leadership and policy in the bachelor’s program for nurses. Dr. Hill’s courses focus on leadership, organization, delegation and policy reform, equipping future nurses with essential skills for the evolving healthcare landscape.

Apart from his contributions in executive leadership and at the university level, Dr. Hill has contributed to the Catskill Martial Arts Academy in New York as an assistant instructor since 2019, sharing his knowledge as a fourth-degree black belt in Tang Soo Do martial arts. He also leads a community service program that provides affordable karate instruction to children and free courses to facility employees.

Among his earlier ventures, Dr. Hill was the director of patient services at Vista on 5th from 2023 to 2025, where he led initiatives to improve patient outcomes and operational efficiency. Prior to this role, he was an assistant professor and clinical adjunct at Sullivan County Community College, SUNY, between 2021 and 2024, as well as a professor at SUNY Sullivan during the same period.

In the healthcare field, Dr. Hill worked for Polaris Healthcare, beginning as a regional clinical supervisor in 2021 and then as the director of nursing and clinical education throughout 2023, where he oversaw the day-to-day operations for eight assisted living facilities. His earlier roles included nursing supervisor and assistant director of nursing at Achieve Rehab and Nursing Facility from 2021 to 2022 and as a lead registered nurse at The Eliot at Erie Station between 2020 and 2021.

Earlier, Dr. Hill excelled as the director of nursing at Valley Vista from 2017 to 2019. He worked as a paramedic and emergency medical technician before transitioning into nursing leadership roles. Dr. Hill’s foundational roles included registered nurse assessor for Marquis Home Care from 2019 to 2025, and unit manager positions at Quaker Hill Manor (now The Eleanor Nursing Care Center) between 2015 and 2017, Achieve Rehab and Nursing Facility in 2015, and Campbell Hall Rehabilitation Center in 2014. Dr. Hill first entered the field with Mobilemedic EMS as a paramedic from 2006 to 2013.

Dr. Hill’s academic background is extensive and has directly supported his professional accomplishments. He initially completed certification coursework in paramedicine at Rockland Community College, SUNY, in 2008 before transferring to Excelsior College (now Excelsior University), where he received an Associate of Science in 2013 and a Bachelor of Science in psychology in 2021. Also in 2021, Dr. Hill earned a Bachelor of Science in nursing from Chamberlain University LLC. From there, he received a Master of Science in nursing with a focus on nurse executive administration and executive leadership from the college of nursing at Chamberlain University LLC in 2023. More recently, Dr. Hill obtained a Doctor of Nursing Practice in leadership in nursing from Grand Canyon University in 2025. He is fluent in English and Spanish.

In addition to his formal education, Dr. Hill’s active credentials include certified dementia practitioner, certified Alzheimer’s disease and dementia care trainer. He also maintains registered nurse licensure in New York and Connecticut, as well as psychiatric mental health board certification for nursing.

Dr. Hill is an active member of several professional organizations, including the American College of Health Care Administrators, the American Association of Post-Acute Care Nursing, the American College of Healthcare Executives, the New York Organization for Nursing Leadership and, among others, the American Organization for Nursing Leadership. Civically engaged, Dr. Hill serves as a mentor through the ACH Mentorship Program and leads youth karate programs that foster discipline and confidence among the youth.

Throughout his career, Dr. Hill has demonstrated expertise in clinical operations, long-term care management and healthcare leadership. He is recognized for his ability to build effective teams, implement operational improvements and mentor emerging leaders in the field.

Among his honors, Dr. Hill received the Lifesaver Award from Orange Regional Medical Center (now Garnet Health). He also received the baronial title, a rank of nobility, in 2025, conferred by the Historical Archive Registry of the International Nobiliary Tribunal of Italy in Bari. Dr. Hill attributes his success to constructive self-reflection, humility and continuous learning. He also credits his ability to accept criticism constructively and learn from others as key factors in his growth as both a leader and educator.

Looking ahead, Dr. Hill aims to mentor future healthcare leaders while implementing innovative processes designed to improve patient care outcomes and operational efficiency across healthcare systems nationally and internationally. He seeks to adapt these models globally for diverse governmental entities with the goal of creating more streamlined healthcare systems that contribute positively to global health. Dr. Hill hopes his legacy will be defined by inspiring others toward personal improvement, encouraging individuals to measure success by their own growth rather than comparison with others, and upholding values reflected in education, wisdom and integrity.
