His leadership simultaneously extended to serving as the president of Whitworth Dental Associates from 1977 to 2011. Earlier in his career, Dr. Whitworth was active as the dental director at St. Ann’s Bay Hospital in Jamaica from 1976 to 1978.
Dr. Whitworth’s impressive educational background laid a strong foundation for his professional achievements. Before embarking upon his professional path, he earned a Bachelor of Arts in biology from Northeastern University in 1971. He continued his studies with a Doctor of Dental Surgery from Howard University in 1976. He ultimately concluded his academic efforts by graduating with a Master of Business Administration from Northeastern University in 1994. These credentials have been instrumental in his ability to manage successful practices while also engaging in teaching and research.
Dr. Whitworth’s professional affiliations reflect his commitment to the advancement of dentistry. He is a member of several esteemed organizations, including the American Dental Association, Massachusetts Dental Society, and American Dental Education Association. He has also been involved with the Gamma Gamma Chapter of Omicron Kappa Upsilon at Harvard University since 2004 and has held various leadership roles within the Massachusetts Dental Society.
Beyond his primary endeavors, Dr. Whitworth is actively engaged in civic activities and community service. He has been appointed to the corporate board of Northeastern University and participated as a board member for Methodist Urban Services and Mattapan Community Development Corporation.
