Crediting over 50 years of distinguished work to her reputation as a lauded psychiatrist, Dr. Swe’s telepsychiatry practice is based in Bedford, Texas. Originally Dr. Ni Ni Swe, MD, PA, it has since become known as Naominamics LLC. Offering telehealth services to patients of all ages, she focuses on conditions such as bipolar disorder and depression, among many others. Taking a compassionate approach to treatment, Dr. Swe is fully committed to her patients’ well-being, developing trust in them and encouraging open communication for the best results.
Before pivoting into private practice, Dr. Swe garnered success at several hospitals, including Terrell State Hospital and Wichita Falls State Hospital. She also served as the medical chief of staff at the Kerry Lane Hospital and Treatment Center and was a physician at Buckland Memorial Hospital and the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School. Additionally, Dr. Swi worked for the Community Mental Health Center at Watkin Corrections.
Dr. Swe was born in Asia and attended a British missionary school. Following her primary education, she completed her undergraduate studies before receiving a Doctor of Medicine from an institution in Myanmar. Dr. Swe subsequently completed her residency in the U.S. at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas.
Dr. Swe remains active in her professional community, serving as a member of the County Medical Society, the American Medical Association and the American Psychiatric Association. These affiliations have helped her remain at the forefront of medicine and collaborate with other like-minded individuals.
Drawing constant inspiration from her parents, Dr. Swe’s father was a doctor, and her mother a nurse. The two met while working together at a hospital during World War II and eventually married. While coming of age, Dr. Swe saw the powerful impact proper health care can have on others and chose to follow in their paths. She is also grateful to her husband, who has supported her throughout her profession.
Early in her career, Dr. Swe was recognized for her community efforts by receiving an Outstanding Young Woman of America in 1984. As she looks forward to the future, she intends to spend the rest of her days maintaining a balanced life, seeing patients and caring for the many animals on her farm, including chickens, roosters, ducks, geese and goats. Dr. Swe credits her lifelong success to her faith. She encourages others to always hold onto hope and the belief that all challenges can be overcome with perseverance.
