Monib A. Zirvi, MD, PhD, Dermatologist at Summit Medical Group, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Doctors for dedication, achievements, and leadership in Medicine.
Dr. Zirvi was initially slated for the computer science field, and always wanted to work in research. Today, he holds over a dozen patents in nucleic acids research, and is the co-author of such works as “Adverse Drug Reactions of Dermatological Therapies” as well as a frequent contributor to such publications as the Journal of Cutaneous Pathology. Dr. Zirvi has been with the Summit Medical Group since 2004, when he also became an adjunct clinical instructor of Weill Cornell Medicine in New York and chair of the alumni schools committee of northern Middlesex County for Princeton University. He hopes to continue working with Cornell in advancing medical science, and to ensure his children Usman, Aleena, Saif, and Armaan do well. Dr. Zirvi is married to his wife, Shazia, who has been instrumental to his achievements and with whom he would like to share this accolade.
Dr. Zirvi is recognized as a Marquis Who’s Who Industry Expert and the recipient of an Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award appearing in three volumes of Who’s Who in America. He graduated from Princeton University, summa cum laude, with a BS in engineering in 1993, and joined Cornell University Medical College, now Weill Cornell Medicine, to earn a PhD and MD in 2000. Dr. Zirvi interned with the Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital and served a dermatology residency with the University of Pennsylvania. He has been an attending dermatologist with the Overlook Medical Center since 2004, along with his other roles, and holds a strategic leadership in healthcare certificate jointly from New York University and Summit Medical Group.
In addition to his role with Princeton, Dr. Zirvi has given his time to the American Academy of Dermatology, AmFAR, the Summit Medical Group Foundation, and numerous charitable organizations. He is a member of the Phi Beta Kappa and Tau Beta Pi honor societies, and has received numerous recognitions for medical excellence, including a 2011 Patient’s Choice Award, a 2003 Beerman-Johnson Resident Research Award from Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, and a 1993 to 2000 Medical Scientist Training Program Fellowship from the National Institutes of Health. In his free time, Dr. Zirvi enjoys playing basketball.
