An experienced veterinarian, Dr. Dennison has excelled since 2009 as the owner of Plateau Valley Animal Hospital LLC. The company is a full-service veterinary clinic serving the Plateau Valley, Garfield County and Mesa County. Prior to his current position, Dr. Dennison garnered experience as a veterinarian at the Los Caballos Veterinary Hospital from 2004 to 2009.
In preparation for his career, Dr. Dennison attended the University of Utah, graduating in 1991 with a bachelor’s degree in applied human sciences. He went on to matriculate at Colorado State University and earned a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 2000. In 2002, he completed a large animal surgery internship at the institution.
Alongside his primary positions, Dr. Dennison shared his knowledge as an associate professor at the Western University College of Veterinary Medicine in Pomona, California. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1985 to 1991, achieving the rank of Staff Sergeant (E-5). Dr. Dennison was also a combat trauma trainer with the U.S. Army. He maintains affiliation with the American Veterinary Medical Association, the Colorado Veterinary Medical Association and the American Association of Equine Practitioners.
In recognition of his professional excellence, Dr. Dennison received the Large Animal Surgery Proficiency Award from Dr. Hendrickson and Dr. Staceak in 2002. He considers serving as an associate professor at the Western University College of Veterinary Medicine his greatest achievement. Dr. Dennison believes developing future veterinary professionals is his most significant contribution to his field. He enjoys basketball, softball, football and country music in his spare time. In the coming years, he hopes to write a book and continue the growth of his clinics.
