Dr. Travis P. Martin, Physician and Chief Executive Officer at Prestige Pain and Trauma Institute, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Doctors for dedication, achievements, and leadership in Pain Medicine and Treatment.

Dr. Martin is a physician who has established himself as a leading expert in post-traumatic pain treatment, interventional pain medicine, emergency medicine and spine care. He is also recognized as a qualified medical examiner. Since 2026, he has served as the chief executive officer at Prestige Pain and Trauma Institute. With three locations in California, in Loma Linda, Rosemead and Coachella, Dr. Martin excels in providing advanced interventional care for complex pain via evidence-based, minimally invasive procedures.

As the owner of his organization, Dr. Martin is responsible for new patient consults, developing detailed therapeutic plans, conducting follow-ups and performing advanced procedures, such as ultrasound-guided and fluoroscopy-guided injections. On surgical days, he implants spinal cord stimulators along the spine to address chronic pain. His expertise extends to consulting in the emergency department, where he evaluates patients and coordinates their care. As a qualified medical examiner in California, Dr. Martin conducts comprehensive workers’ compensation evaluations and writes extensive reports for the State of California Department of Workers’ Compensation, ensuring that both legal and medical aspects of recovery are addressed for injured workers.

Dr. Martin’s commitment to advocacy is evident in his medical-legal consulting work, where he champions the rights of injured workers who may lack access to optimal care. Through the Prestige Pain and Trauma Institute, he works together with attorneys and physicians to provide objective medical-legal evaluations.

In addition to his leadership at the Prestige Pain and Trauma Institute, Dr. Martin spends weekends covering the emergency department at Loma Linda University Health. He integrates his background in emergency medicine with his specialized knowledge in pain management to provide comprehensive care for patients recovering from workplace traumas, automobile injuries or chronic conditions.

Before becoming a business owner, Dr. Martin practiced emergency medicine at Parkview Community Hospital Medical Center in Riverside, California. There, he managed acute cases and collaborated with multidisciplinary teams to deliver critical care. Earlier roles included practicing emergency medicine in Monterey, California, and serving as a spine specialist at Inland Pain Medicine in Colton and in Santa Barbara, California. In these positions, Dr. Martin focused on injections, regenerative medicine and spinal cord stimulator procedures while adapting his approach to diverse patient populations.

Dr. Martin’s career began with distinguished military service as a staff sergeant and noncommissioned officer in the U.S. Air Force from 2007 to 2012. Serving three tours in Afghanistan as an airborne Korean linguist and intelligence specialist, he completed nearly two years of intensive training at the Defense Language Institute in Monterey before performing airborne reconnaissance missions across various aircraft platforms.

Dr. Martin’s academic journey reflects both determination and adaptability. After completing his military service, he earned a bachelor’s degree in general studies from the University of Nebraska at Omaha. He went on to receive a Doctor of Medicine from the University of Nebraska Medical Center in 2019, a milestone made possible by leveraging military education benefits. Dr. Martin then completed a residency in emergency medicine at the College of Medicine at The University of Arizona in Tucson before pursuing a fellowship in pain medicine at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Harvard Medical School in Boston, Massachusetts.

In addition to his degrees, Dr. Martin holds board certifications in pain management and emergency medicine and is recognized as a qualified medical evaluator in California. He credits his refusal to quit as the driving force behind his success, whether facing adversity during three tours in Afghanistan or working on the front lines during the COVID-19 pandemic with limited resources. Dr. Martin views each challenge as an opportunity to pivot toward future achievements.

Throughout his career, Dr. Martin has maintained active memberships with leading professional organizations. Among them, he is affiliated with the American Academy of Pain Medicine, the California Society of Industrial Medicine and Surgery, the American Academy of Emergency Physicians and the North American Neuromodulation Society.

Dr. Martin’s civic engagement is equally robust. He is a longtime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America, reflecting his ongoing commitment to veteran communities. He has volunteered extensively with veteran societies, conducting research during his pre-medical years and providing comfort to patients as a hospital volunteer. Dr. Martin’s advocacy extends into fundraising efforts for support groups dedicated to injured workers’ rights, particularly those affected by corporate policies limiting compensation.

In recognition of his military tenure, Dr. Martin earned the John Levitow Award upon graduating from Airman Leadership School in 2011. He also received recognition for excellence through multiple commendations, including the U.S. Air Force Commendation Medal, a Marksmanship Medal, several Air Medals for nearly 5,000 hours of flight time and a Classified Team Award from the National Security Agency.

Dr. Martin’s legacy centers on making a personal difference within his community by connecting directly with patients who need specialized care. Looking ahead, he aims to expand access to medical care for underserved populations by growing the Prestige Pain and Trauma Institute into a network of clinics across Southern California and beyond. Dr. Martin’s vision includes bringing additional physicians into the practice, allowing him to transition into a managerial role while continuing to foster growth and innovation within the field.
