In addition to her primary responsibilities, Dr. Samayoa has served as an adviser for the research department at Catholic University of Honduras, Our Lady Queen of Peace, since 2024. A private university run by a Catholic church, it comprises 11 campuses across Honduras.

Before pivoting into her current role, Dr. Samayoa was a clinical manager at Hospital del Valle from 2024 to 2025. Recruited from Columbia Data Analytics LLC, she excelled as a health economics and outcomes research project manager between 2023 and 2024, responsible for a range of tasks, including managing research portfolios, designing and developing research strategies, and more.

In 2023, Dr. Samayoa served as a clinical quality coordinator at New York Medical and Vascular Care, where she implemented quality improvement initiatives, among other responsibilities. Her tenure there began as a cardiovascular coordinator and medical intern from 2020 to 2023, where she gained hands-on experience in patient care coordination and cardiovascular health management.

Dr. Samayoa previously excelled as a health care consultant with University Research Co., LLC, from 2022 to 2023, advising on public health projects, including the HEARD Project Protecting Children from Violence portfolio. Her earlier fieldwork included various other roles, including research assistant at the City University of New York SPH Center for Systems & Community Design between 2021 and 2022, clinical research assistant at Montefiore Health System in the Bronx, New York, from 2017 to 2021, and medical supply salesperson for RMAdistribution between 2020 and 2021.

Dr. Samayoa’s foundational experiences included an internship at Dr. Hamed Behzadi’s Office in New York from 2018 to 2020 and at Monroe Internal Medicine in 2016, where she developed essential clinical skills. She also gained experience as a teacher assistant at Escuela Internacional De La Lima in Honduras in 2007.

Dr. Samayoa’s academic background has been integral to her success. She earned a Master of Public Health from City University of New York in 2022 and a Doctor of Medicine from the Universidad de Ciencias Médicas in 2014. Dr. Samayoa further distinguished herself with several professional credentials, including certification in basic life support, verified international academic qualifications from World Education Services, and credentials in essential pain management through Praxhub.

In addition to her education, Dr. Samayoa’s professional affiliations include membership in the American Physicians Association, reflecting her commitment to ongoing professional development and engagement with peers in the medical community. Her commitment extends to civic engagement, where she is actively involved with toy drive initiatives in Honduras, supporting underserved communities through charitable outreach. Dr. Samayoa has also served as a fundraising volunteer for the National Hospital of Geriatrics and Gerontology in Costa Rica and as a public health speaker for the Area de Salud de Santo Domingo at Clinica Dr. Hugo Fonseca Arce, also in Costa Rica.

Throughout her career, Dr. Samayoa has been recognized for her contributions to research and health care delivery. As a respected professional in her field, she has contributed her editorial expertise to the editorial staff of Regina Pacis – Sapientia Postgraduate Journal at the Catholic University of Honduras, Our Lady Queen of Peace, since 2025. Among Dr. Samayoa’s most notable achievements was receiving the Best General Poster Research Presentation Award at ISPOR Europe in 2024, a testament to her dedication to advancing knowledge within her field.

Dr. Samayoa credits her success to the unwavering support of family and friends who have encouraged her throughout her journey. Motivated by a desire to help others and an enduring love of learning, she continues to pursue excellence both professionally and personally. Looking ahead, Dr. Samayoa plans to pursue an additional master’s degree.
