Dr. Menendez Caraballo is a dedicated leader in the pharmaceutical sector. She currently serves as executive director of pharmacy and therapeutics at VivaMas Medical Centers, a role she has held since 2023. In this capacity, she oversees five dispensaries and manages all aspects related to medication safety, the ordering process and legal compliance. Dr. Menendez Caraballo’s most notable achievement in her career has been building the dispensary at VivaMas from the ground up, ensuring that patients receive care on the same day they need it. Her leadership has been instrumental in establishing efficient systems and elevating patient care standards within the organization.
Before joining VivaMas Medical Centers, Dr. Menendez Caraballo worked as a pharmacist with Publix Asset Management Company from 2022 to 2023. During her tenure, she was responsible for dispensing medications, counseling patients and maintaining regulatory compliance within the pharmacy setting.
Between 2014 and 2018, Dr. Menendez Caraballo served as a care coordinator at Simply Healthcare Plans in Miami, Florida. In this position, she coordinated patient care services, facilitated communication between providers and patients, and contributed to improving health outcomes for members of the health care plan. Dr. Menendez Caraballo’s professional journey began at Walgreens Company in Miami, Florida, where she worked as a clerk from 2010 to 2014. This early experience provided her with foundational knowledge of pharmacy operations and customer service.
Dr. Menendez Caraballo’s educational background is distinguished by initial coursework in industrial engineering, completed in Cuba, followed by an associate degree in pre-pharmacy studies from Miami Dade College in 2018. She further enhanced her practical experience through a pharmacist internship with the Florida Department of Health in Duval County in 2018. In 2022, Dr. Menendez Caraballo graduated with a Master of Business Administration and a Doctor of Pharmacy from Nova Southeastern University, where she was consistently recognized for her achievements by being named to the Dean’s List.
Adding to her expertise, Dr. Menendez Caraballo holds several certifications. She obtained basic life support certification from the American Heart Association Inc. in 2018 and completed sexual orientation and gender identity training through South Florida AETC in 2019.
Dr. Menendez Caraballo is an active member of several industry-related organizations. Most notably, she participates in the clinical skills committee of the Student Society of Health System Pharmacy under the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists. She also remains active with the Rho Chi Society, recognizing her academic excellence in pharmacy, as well as with Phi Kappa Phi.
In recognition of her contributions at VivaMas Medical Centers, Dr. Menendez Caraballo received a Recognition Award in 2024. She attributes her success to perseverance and determination. These qualities have enabled her to remain focused on goals despite various obstacles. Dr. Menendez Caraballo also credits her supportive mother as an influential role model who instilled the importance of having a profession and serving others.
