Dr. Agadzi found success in academia as an assistant clinical professor at Touro University in New York City and as a clinical professor at the University of California San Francisco, accumulating 10 years of experience in the classroom. He also served as a partner at the Lao Rehabilitation Foundation, an international non-governmental organization with locations in both Laos and the United States. Dr. Agadzi intends to continue impacting education in the future while maintaining a balance by delivering immediate clinical services and exceptional ophthalmic care to those within the community.
In preparation for his career, Dr. Agadzi achieved a Bachelor of Arts in biology from Macalester College in St. Paul, Minnesota, in 1999 and a Doctor of Medicine from the University of Minnesota in St. Paul in 2003. Additional educational pursuits to his credit included an internal medicine internship at Mount Sinai Medical Center in 2004 and a residency in ophthalmology at the University of California in 2007. Dr. Agadzi is a board-certified ophthalmologist through the American Board of Ophthalmology. He speaks fluent English, Spanish and Russian and has some proficiency in French.
Adding to his credentials, Dr. Agadzi is an active member of several industry-related organizations, including the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Board of Ophthalmology. These affiliations have been instrumental in his continued success and ability to network with like-minded individuals. Civically engaged, Dr. Agadzi has been involved in community outreach by volunteering with the Vallejo Executive Lions Club, which partners with the Lions Eye Foundation, and engaging in various eye-related charities, including his participation on a mission trip to Haiti with SEE International, a charity working to end preventable blindness. Dr. Agadzi’s clinic, the Redwood Eye Center, is also a member of the Vallejo Chamber of Commerce.
Dr. Agadzi attributes his accomplishments to a strong family background in medicine. His father was an infectious disease specialist who profoundly contributed to the global health community. Several of Dr. Agadzi’s siblings are also physicians. These positive influences have been instrumental in his life and work.
Reflecting on his career, Dr. Agadzi has drawn the most reward from serving his community as a dedicated clinical ophthalmic care provider, both surgical and medical.
