Samuel David Stulberg, MD, Surgeon at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Doctors for dedication, achievements, and leadership in Orthopedic Surgery.

For over 30 years, Dr. Stulberg has been a respected authority in the field of orthopedic surgery. Throughout his career, he has always demonstrated a strong commitment towards advancing the practice of orthopedic surgery, and has worked constantly to develop new procedures and technologies. He is currently a surgeon at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, and since 1986, he has served as director of the hospital’s Joint Reconstruction and Implant Service, of which he is also the founder. Since 1994, he has been a professor of clinical orthopedic surgery at the Feinberg School of Medicine of Northwestern University. In 2006, he founded Operation Walk Chicago, which is a medical humanitarian organization that provides free hip and knee replacement surgeries. Dr. Stulberg serves as Operation Walk Chicago’s director.

In 1965, Dr. Stulberg graduated from Harvard University, Cum Laude, with a bachelor’s degree. He continued his education at the University of Michigan, where he received an MD in 1969. From 1970 to 1975, he held a residency in orthopedic surgery at Harvard University, a specialty that intrigued him due to recent advances in joint replacement.

Throughout his career, Dr. Stulberg has been a pioneer in the field of orthopedic surgery. He is a leader in the development of the field of computer-assisted orthopedic surgery, and has also developed concepts, techniques and instruments for minimally invasive orthopedic surgery. He has pioneered the design of multiple joint replacement systems, including the Columbus Computer Assisted Knee System, the Continuum Knee System, and the MicroLoc Knee System. For his contributions and achievements in the field, Dr. Stulberg has been honored and recognized multiple times. Among these honors are the M.E. Muller Award, the Elven J. Berkheiser Prize from the Institute of Medicine of Chicago, and a fellowship at the Orthopaedic Research and Education Foundation.
