With more than 15 years of experience to his credit, Dr. Satiya has excelled as a hepatologist operating out of Yuma Gastroenterology at Yuma Regional Medical Center in 2024. In this position at the outpatient clinic-based practice, he treats patients with liver issues including hepatitis B, hepatitis C, liver cancer, fatty liver, and cirrhosis, among others. Additionally involved in the aforementioned center’s residency program, Dr. Satiya also conducts lectures for programs, aids students and faculty in their research, and advises companies in improving their health care practices.
Prior to this post, Dr. Satiya was active as a resident physician at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine from 2016 to 2019, a resident representative on the Board of Directors for the Palm Beach County Medical Society from 2017 to 2020, a member of the teaching faculty at New York Medical College from 2019 to 2020, and an advanced hepatology fellow at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center from 2020 to 2021. He previously served as a visiting scholar at the Cleveland Clinic Florida Hospital in 2015, a clinical research fellow with the Cleveland Clinic from 2015 to 2016, and a board member for the Palm Beach County Medical Society from 2016 to 2017. Dr. Satiya began his career as a medical graduate at Grant Medical College and Sir. J.J. Group of Hospitals between 2008 and 2014. He refined his skills as a visiting student at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, the Boston Children’s Hospital, and the Northwestern Memorial Hospital in 2013.
To support his professional ambitions, Dr. Satiya pursued an education at Grant Medical College, from which he earned a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery in 2014. He completed residency in Internal Medicine from the University of Miami, earning his Doctor of Medicine and a chief residency at the Metropolitan Hospital, courtesy of New York Medical College. He subsequently graduated from his Fellowship training in Advanced Hepatology from the Harvard Medical School. Subsequently, he was bestowed with a Fellowship of the American College of Physicians.
In light of his impressive undertakings, Dr. Satiya has accrued several accolades throughout his career. The recipient of the Certificate of Recognition for Excellence in Research, he was also presented with the 2017 SCOPY Award from the American College of Gastroenterology, the 2019 Service Award for Colorectal Cancer Outreach, Prevention and Year-Round Excellence from the American College of Gastroenterology, and a Certificate of Appreciation for Taking Care of COVID-19 Patients in 2020. His work was further recognized as a Poster of Distinction at Digestive Disease Week in 2017 and a Presidential Poster by the American College of Gastroenterology in 2019. In 2016, Dr. Satiya was notably celebrated with a Honorable Mention at the New Orleans Conference.
Dr. Satiya has attributed his success to the support and encouragement of his parents, who instilled in him the importance of hard work and education. Having fostered a lifelong fascination with science and biology, he is also grateful for the influence and teachings of his top-tier colleagues in Boston. Among the highlights of his career, he is incredibly proud to have been trained in taking care of patients with liver diseases and liver transplants at Harvard Medical School, the opportunity to collaborate with experts in his field from around the world, and to have been honored by the American College of Gastroenterology for his stellar written works. In the future, Dr. Sativa hopes to continue thriving as a hepatologist while training the next generation of residents.
