Dr. Modjinou is a leading physician and the president, founder and chief executive officer of Advanced Rheumatology Associates of Nevada since 2023. His role involves diagnosing and treating a wide range of autoimmune and inflammatory conditions in patients. He also analyzes details to provide them with unified diagnoses and effective treatment plans. Furthermore, Dr. Modjinou helps them manage soft tissue conditions, such as bursitis, tendinitis, and epicondylitis.
Before stepping into his present role, Dr. Modjinou garnered success as the director of a musculoskeletal and skin disease course at the Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine at the University of Nevada Las Vegas from 2017 to 2018. He previously taught on campus as an assistant professor between 2016 and 2018.
In preparation for his career, Dr. Modjinou received a Bachelor of Science in biology from Canisius University in 2005 and a Doctor of Medicine from State University of New York Upstate Medical University in 2009. Additional educational pursuits to his credit included an internship and residency in internal medicine at Stony Brook University in 2012 and a fellowship in rheumatology from New York University in 2014. Dr. Modjinou is board-certified in internal medicine and rheumatology.
Dr. Modjinou is an elected fellow of the American College of Rheumatology and the American College of Physicians Inc. He also remains abreast of industry trends through memberships with the American Medical Association and the Nevada State Medical Association.
Highly active in community initiatives, Dr. Modjinou has served on the advisory board for Integrate Health, an organization with a decade-long track record of making a meaningful impact. He has also supported mission trips facilitated by the missionary family of an American trauma surgeon in Togo, Western Africa, and has provided financial support to the training of surgeons in Togo on behalf of the Pan-African Academy of Christian Surgeons. Furthermore, Dr. Modjinou supports trauma Surgeons through the Association of Baptists for World Evangelism.
As a seasoned researcher in his field, Dr. Modjinou has contributed literature to numerous publications on various topics as an author and contributor, including the Bulletin of the Hospital for Joint Disease, the Internet Journal of Dermatology and the Journal of Internal Medicine.
In light of his success in medicine, Dr. Modjinou was recognized among the 40 Griffs Under 40 by Canisius Magazine in 2017 and named a Top Doctor by Castle Connolly Medical Ltd. from 2022 to 2023. Additionally, since relocating to Las Vegas, he has been acknowledged as a top 7% performer nationally. While in college, Dr. Modjinou also received several accolades, including the Alexander Award for outstanding research in biology by Canisius College in 2005 and Rheumatology Fellow of the Year in 2013.
Dr. Modjinou credits his strong values and work ethic, which were instilled by his grandparents and parents, and have been pivotal in his success. He is also grateful for the positive influence of mentors and associates in the U.S. who have provided guidance. Moreover, his passion for medicine was ignited by his father, a physician. Throughout his career, Dr. Modjinou has been fortunate to assist him at his clinics and during mission trips to his home country of Africa, where he also recognized the dire need for medical professionals early on.
Eager for the future of medicine, Dr. Modjinou is dedicated to advancing health care in Africa. During a recent visit, he provided valuable advice to the organization and collected essential data, which was shared with the central organization in Massachusetts.
