With more than years of experience to his credit, Dr. Dammalapati has excelled as a resident physician at the Morehouse School of Medicine since 2017 and a hospitalist physician at the North Alabama Medical Center since 2020. Prior to these positions, he was active at the Emory School of Medicine at Emory University as a clinical observer practicing at Grady Memorial Hospital in 2016 and a research scholar from 2014 to 2017. He previously refined his skills as a visiting student at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in 2012 and a research intern in the Cancer Prevention Research Training Program at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center from 2012 to 2013. Dr. Dammalapati began his career as a clinical intern at King George Hospital with BHR University Hospitals NHS Trust between 2010 and 2012.

To support his professional ambitions, Dr. Dammalapati pursued an education at Andhra Medical College, from which he earned a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery in medical sciences in 2011. He subsequently concluded his studies at Morehouse School of Medicine, graduating with a Doctor of Medicine. Having fostered a longstanding passion for physics and physiology, he was drawn to the field of medicine after receiving a full scholarship to medical school as to discover effective treatments and care plans that prevent complications for people in need. As a testament to his stellar efforts during his time at Grady Memorial Hospital, Dr. Dammalapati was celebrated for Best Presentation by Grady Health System.

Dr. Dammalapati has attributed his success to the encouragement and support of his parents and teachers over the course of his pre-medical studies. Notably, he fondly recalls the mentorship of Dr. Greg Martin, a critical care physician who guided him during the nascent years of his career. Among his many achievements thus far, he is proud of his oral presentation at an international conference in 2017 and obtaining his distinction in pharmacology and his research fellowship for his publications. Looking toward the future, Dr. Dammalapati hopes to further his career, consolidate his primary care plan as to better serve his community, and improve opportunities for future professionals in the critical care space.
