Mr. Kestner takes great pride in his ability to objectively streamline and support workflows using electronic tools. His frustration with clinical medicine stemmed from the disconnect between business operations and clinical processes, where everything seemed broken. It took 10 to 15 years to simplify the electronic health record, and even now, it remains less than ideal. He emphasizes that he has worked to “address the fragmented nature of health care” by focusing on the big picture before automating processes. One of his greatest contributions to medicine is his emphasis on employing physicians and adapting to the ever-evolving nature of health care. In the coming years, he aims to remain active and continue contributing his expertise without exhausting it. He hopes to share his extensive knowledge and insights in the field, maintaining his dedication to advancing healthcare.
