Location: Grand Lake, Colorado, United States
Mark W. Adams, DDS, MS, Retired Chief Clinical Officer at ClearChoice Management Services, LLC, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Doctors for dedication, achievements, and leadership in dentistry and healthcare.
With decades of experience to his credit, Dr. Adams is currently retired, having most recently excelled as the chief clinical officer with ClearChoice Management Services, LLC from 2021 to 2023. Prior to this position, he was active at the aforementioned company as the clinical director from 2006 to 2018 and the vice president of clinical affairs from 2014 to 2021. During this time, Dr. Adams proudly served as the founding prosthodontist at the ClearChoice Dental Implant Center in Denver, Colorado, the first “all-in-one” dental implant center in the U.S. whose network now treats more than 150,000 patients across the country.
Dr. Adams previously found success as a prosthodontist operating out of his private practice, M.W. Adams, DDS, in Flint, Michigan, between 1983 and 2006. He was simultaneously recruited as a consultant with Zimmer Dental, a subsidiary of Zimmer Biomet, from 1985 to 2006. Outside of his primary responsibilities, Dr. Adams has contributed to the University of Michigan as a clinical assistant professor of graduate prosthodontics at the Rackham Graduate School from 1985 to 1986, the Pride Institute as a member of the teaching faculty from 1994 to 1998, the chairperson of the Colorado Board of Dental Examiners since 2021, and a board member for the SALT Dental Collective since 2023.
To support his professional ambitions, Dr. Adams pursued an education at the University of Michigan School of Dentistry, from which he earned a Doctor of Dental Surgery in dentistry and prosthodontics in 1983. He concluded his formal academic efforts at the University of Michigan in 1985, graduating with a Master of Science in prosthodontics. Many years later, Dr. Adams would study under the innovator of the European “All-on-Four” dental procedure, Dr. Paulo Malo, which allowed him to bring those same clinical protocols to the United States through the ClearChoice Dental Implant Center.
Dr. Adams has also provided his wealth of expertise extensively to medical journals relating to the field of dentistry. Between 2005 and 2012, he co-authored or authored various articles published in the Journal of Oral and Craniofacial Tissue Engineering, the Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, and Dentistry Today. Likewise, Dr. Adams was the co-author of “Treatment of Severe Maxillary Atrophy with BMP-2 Sinus Grafting, Transsinus Implants and Immediate Function,” a chapter in “Zygomatic Implants: The Anatomy Guided Approach,” which was edited by Carlos Aparicio for Quintessence Publishing in 2012.
Driven by the opportunity to help others in the field of health care, Dr. Adams has attributed his success to his persistence, his focus, and his desire to provide his patients with hope. As a testament to his stellar achievements, he was presented with the Top Dentists of America Award in 2003, 2004, and 2009. Among his many accomplishments, he is incredibly proud of helping to standardize clinical protocols in implant dentistry that streamlined an otherwise time-consuming, expensive and disjointed process. Looking toward the future, Dr. Adams hopes to continue sharing his experience through part-time capacities as a mentor and board member while devoting his spare time to his family, especially his grandchildren.
