With 26 years of experience to his credit, Dr. Samaké has excelled in a number of roles and positions with the United States Department of Agriculture since 2007. He began his career in the Food Safety and Inspection Service as a supervisory public health veterinarian from 2007 to 2010. He served as a veterinary medical officer of Import Export Coordination and Policy Development from 2010 to 2015. He garnered a stellar reputation as an agricultural resources advisor for West Africa, in coordination with the United States Agency for International Development and the Foreign Agriculture Service in Ghana from 2015 to 2019. He was further associated with the same as a senior staff officer and veterinary medical officer since 2019.
Before embarking on his professional path, Dr. Samaké pursued an education at the Ecole Nationale Veterinaire of Toulouse, France, where he earned a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 1989. He continued his academic efforts at the Université de Montréal, obtaining a Master of Science in veterinary pathology and microbiology in 1992 and a PhD in animal biotechnology in 1996. Beyond his responsibilities within the field, he has participated in numerous endeavors outside of his professional circles. He contributed as a judge at the school science fair in his community.
Dr. Samaké attributes his success to determination, dedication, and discipline. His most notable achievement is the mentorship he has done, both in academia and for the United States government. In the immediate future, his intention is to see himself as a happy father who has influenced his family, peers, mentees, and community.
