Dr. Beacham came of age in a family with a long medical history. His great-grandfather played an instrumental role in the establishment of a public health system for Mississippi, and of his five sons, four joined the American College of Surgeons. As a young student, Dr. Beacham became interested in veterinary medicine, and went on to benefit from the tutelage of the late Jack Nunnery, who served as the president of the Mississippi State Board of Veterinary Medicine. In addition to receiving a bachelor’s degree from Millsaps College, he subsequently attended the Mississippi State University College of Veterinary Medicine, from which he earned a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 1998.
To remain aware of developments in the field, Dr. Beacham has maintained his affiliation with such organizations as the American Veterinary Medical Association and the Mississippi Veterinary Medical Association. Outside of his vocational efforts, he is also a member of the Gulf Port Chamber of Commerce and his local chapter of Rotary International.
Throughout the course of his career, Dr. Beacham is most proud to have earned the respect of his fellow veterinarians. His sterling reputation has exerted an indelible impact on his professional journey. In accounting for his overall success, he credits his deep and abiding compassion for animals and their owners.
