Hailemichael Gebreselassie, MD, MPH, PhD, Freelance Consultant in Reproductive Health Research, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Doctors for dedication, achievements, and leadership in reproductive health and epidemiology.
With more than 20 years of experience to his credit, Dr. Gebreselassie has excelled as a freelance consultant in reproductive health research since 2020. In this position, he is involved with designing research, assessments and implementation on reproductive health issues. Dr. Gebreselassie trains data collectors, supervises data collection, analyzes data and reports findings. Prior to this role, he garnered experience as a senior researcher and epidemiologist with Ipas from 2016 to 2020 and a senior regional research advisor for Africa with the same company from 2000 to 2020. To keep abreast of his field, Dr. Gebreselassie has maintained membership with the Ethiopian Public Health Association.
In preparation for his career, Dr. Gebreselassie graduated from the Gondar College of Medical Sciences with a Doctor of Medicine in 1985. After earning a master’s degree in public health, he graduated from McGill University with a Doctor of Philosophy in epidemiology biostatics in 1997. Dr. Gebreselassie attributes his success to his commitment to humanity. In the coming years, he hopes to broaden his work and pursue data science. In his spare time, he enjoys playing piano and listening to Ethiopian music.
