Lawrence J. Singerman, MD, FACS, Ophthalmologist with Retina Associates of Cleveland Inc., has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Doctors for dedication, achievements, and leadership in ophthalmology.
Dr. Singerman is an ophthalmologist with more than 45 years of experience at the Retina Associates of Cleveland Inc. In this role, he works with patients, performs eye exams, diagnoses retinal problems and runs clinical trials. He also oversees 11 retina physicians in the practice and a team of 125 employees, including clinical trial personnel, physician assistants and ophthalmic photographers.
In preparation for his career, Dr. Singerman attended Case Western Reserve University and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in 1965. In 1969, he earned a master’s degree from the Wayne State University School of Medicine. In 1973, Dr. Singerman completed a residency at the Mount Sinai Medical Center. Following this accomplishment, he concluded his formal training with a fellowship in retinal surgery at The Johns Hopkins University. Alongside his formal degrees, he is board-certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology.
For his professional excellence, Dr. Singerman earned a Lifetime Achievement Award from the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the Diabetes Association of Greater Cleveland. He was named the First Honorary Trustee for Life by the Diabetes Association of Greater Cleveland. Dr. Singerman also received the J. Donald Gass Medal and the Arnall Patz Medal from The Macula Society. He was also recognized with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award.
Dr. Singerman attributes his success to his hard work. He became involved in ophthalmology because of his passion for helping others. In the coming years, he hopes to expand his organization, recruit more physicians and grow as a medical professional.
