After receiving a Doctor of Optometry from Abia State University in Abia, Nigeria, Dr. Oji obtained a Doctor of Medicine in 2007 from Saba University School of Medicine in the Caribbean Netherlands. He then served a residency in family medicine from 2008 to 2011 with Saint Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center in Phoenix. He later earned an honorary doctorate in 2018 from Abia State.
As a family medicine physician affiliated with the Banner Del E. Webb Medical Center in Sun City West, Arizona, Dr. Oji provides superior care as a primary-care doctor trained to meet the diverse health needs of children and families. He is licensed to practice in the states of Arizona and North Carolina and is certified by the American Board of Family Medicine. His professional memberships include the American Academy of Family Physicians and Society of Hospital Medicine.
Dr. Oji was inspired by one of his friends to go into medicine, the late Dr. David Rabono. He was his mentor and somebody who really inspired him. He attributes his success to his passion to help and care for people. As a career highlight, he cites interaction with patients or their family members, and seeing his patients live a longer life. Dr. Oji’s goal in the coming years is to continue practicing clinically while he pursues administrative opportunities.
