Hasan A. Baloch, MD, medical director at UNC Health Johnston, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Doctors for dedication, achievements, and leadership in adult and child psychiatry.
Having accumulated nearly 15 years of experience, Dr. Baloch has cultivated a career of excellence in the health care industry. Specializing in inpatient psychiatry for adults and children, he has operated as the medical director of UNC Health Johnston since 2018. In this role, he oversees a number of administrative and directorial tasks, in addition to managing a full medical staff. Dr. Baloch originally joined UNC Health in 2008, operating as an assistant professor until 2010.
Adjacent to his primary duties, Dr. Baloch has also operated as the medical director of Capital Area Psychiatric Associates PLCC since 2010. Between then and 2017, he was also the medical director of Carolina Outreach LLC. To remain abreast of developments within his field, Dr. Baloch has also maintained his membership with several industry-related organizations, including The American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and the North Carolina Psychiatric Association. Furthermore, he remains a fellow of the American Psychiatric Association.
Before beginning his vocational journey, Dr. Baloch pursued a formal education, beginning with his time at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in biochemistry in 1998. He subsequently continued his studies at the St. George’s University School of Medicine and achieved a Doctor of Medicine in 2003. In addition to his academic credentials, Dr. Baloch is also board certified in adult and child psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology Inc.
Outside of his professional work, Dr. Baloch also participates as a civic-minded citizen within his community, regularly working with homeless and domestic violence shelters by providing evaluations and treatments for residents. In light of his accomplishments, he was previously recognized as a Top Psychiatrist, in addition to receiving a teaching award. Accounting for his achievements, he attributes much of his success to his skills as a leader and his drive to continue improving himself. Looking to the future, Dr. Baloch hopes to continue improving his psychiatric program at UNC Health by expanding their services and beginning new projects.
