With nearly two decades of experience to his credit, Dr. Hernandez has excelled as the founder, chief executive officer, and lead rheumatologist at Fort Bend Rheumatology Associates in Texas. Having founded the institution in 2005, he has cultivated a career of excellence in the health care industry. Well-regarded for his knowledge in the field, he also previously served as an assistant clinical professor at the Baylor College of Medicine for four years. In his civic-minded endeavors, Dr. Hernandez regularly participates in charitable and educational efforts alongside the Africa New Life Ministries.
Prior to embarking on his vocational journey, Dr. Hernandez pursued a formal education, earning a bachelor’s degree at Angelo State University in 1991 and a Doctor of Medicine at the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center School of Medicine in 1996. He subsequently joined the Baylor St. Luke’s Medical Center, part of the Baylor College of Medicine, where he completed his residency in internal medicine in 1999 and a fellowship in rheumatology in 2001. To commemorate his accomplishments, he was honored with the GlaxoSmithKline Award in 2001.
