With more than two decades of experience in healthcare, Dr. Thompson-Jones has distinguished herself as a leader in both clinical practice and entrepreneurship. Recognized as a Doctor of Nursing Practice since 2022, she has served as the owner of Belle Lueur Wellness Spa LLC in Flossmoor, Illinois. At this medical wellness and aesthetics spa, she provides specialized services tailored to the needs of individuals with skin of color, addressing gaps in care and product suitability within the industry. Dr. Thompson-Jones’s expertise encompasses obesity medicine, weight loss and nutrition, elective IV hydration, body contouring, hormone replacement therapy and cosmetic procedures, such as Botox and fillers.

Dr. Thompson-Jones has additionally owned and operated Premium Practitioners Plus Inc. in Flossmoor since 2018. At this primary medical care facility, she delivers comprehensive care for basic medical needs, including annual physicals and laboratory reviews, while managing chronic health conditions prevalent in the African American community, such as hypertension, diabetes, obesity, congestive heart failure and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. Notably, under Dr. Thompson-Jones’s leadership, Premium Practitioners Plus Inc. is contracted with the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services to provide accessible care to underserved populations.

Earlier still, Dr. Thompson-Jones has also served as transition-of-care coordinator at Cook County Health in Chicago since 2014. In this role, she helps community members access necessary services by arranging appointments, transportation and referrals to specialists. Dr. Thompson-Jones’s commitment extends to frequently meeting with patients at her practices during off hours to ensure continuity of care.

Among her earlier roles, Dr. Thompson-Jones contributed her skills as a family nurse practitioner at Infectious Disease Solutions in Illinois from 2022 to 2024. Earlier in her career, she worked as a family nurse practitioner at Physicians Medical Services Ltd. between 2018 and 2024. Before these roles, Dr. Thompson-Jones gained extensive experience in critical care settings, including intensive care units focused on cardiac, neuro-intensive care, surgical intensive care and trauma intensive care. Her leadership was also demonstrated when she became the director of nursing at a skilled nursing facility serving an impoverished community. Through her efforts, several facilities improved from one-star to five-star ratings.

Dr. Thompson-Jones’s academic achievements have played a crucial role in shaping her career trajectory. Her foundational education began with a Bachelor of Science in nursing from Chicago State University in 2005. She then earned a Master of Science in nursing with a focus on family nurse practitioner studies in 2016 and a Doctor of Nursing Practice in 2022 from Walden University LLC.

Notably, during her doctoral studies, Dr. Thompson-Jones developed and implemented a clinical guideline for obesity screening among children within school systems, a project that underscores her dedication to preventive health measures for vulnerable populations. She authored “BMI Screening Tool to Identify Elementary School Children at Risk for Obesity,” published through ScholarWorks at Walden University in 2022.

Dr. Thompson-Jones’s professional memberships include the American Nurses Association and the American Nurses Credentialing Center. These affiliations reflect her commitment to ongoing professional development and excellence in nursing. Volunteerism is also central to Dr. Thompson-Jones’s ethos. She has contributed time educating the community through organizations such as Educating Our Community and All Things Pretty Inc., further demonstrating her commitment to service outside clinical settings.

Among her accomplishments, Dr. Thompson-Jones has been recognized through several distinctions, including being featured in South Suburban News and in the article “From Teen Mom to Trailblazing DNP: Dr. Talia Thompson-Jones Redefines Holistic Wellness in Illinois.” She was also named second runner-up for Director of Nursing of the Year.

Throughout her career journey, Dr. Thompson-Jones has prioritized service over financial gain. She is known for developing deep relationships with her patients and clients by understanding their lives beyond medical records. This individualized approach allows Dr. Thompson-Jones to deliver family-oriented care that values quality over quantity, a philosophy that distinguishes her within the healthcare sector.

Raised in Chicago as a young Black woman from an urban area facing economic hardship, and having overcome the challenges of being a teen mother, Dr. Thompson-Jones takes pride in using her experiences as motivation to succeed and inspire others facing similar obstacles. She credits her success to faith, determination, support from her family and the lessons learned from overcoming adversity. She also notes a significant influence on her career, Dr. Marlyn Hirsch, a mentor whom she regards as both a role model and a source of wisdom within the healthcare field.

Looking ahead, Dr. Thompson-Jones is committed to closing gaps in healthcare access for people of color by amplifying their voices and addressing inequities within wellness and aesthetic medicine through nonprofit initiatives. She hopes to be remembered as someone who genuinely cared for others, instilling confidence that anyone can achieve their dreams regardless of background or circumstance.
