With two and a half decades of experience to his credit, Dr. Salavaggione has established a successful career in pharmacogenomics, pharmacology, and molecular biology. He currently excells as the founder and chief executive officer at A.I. Genomic Resources, a position he has held since 2022, and founder of PGx Software LLC since 2015. PGx Software offers cloud-based solutions for molecular diagnostic laboratories, converting raw pharmacogenomic test data into clear, actionable reports for use by clinicians. They provide tools and support to labs of all sizes, enabling them to offer pharmacogenomic interpretation services without the need for additional resources or specialized personnel. His experience also includes serving as an assistant professor from 2007 to 2010 and senior scientist at Washington University from 2005 to 2006. 

Dr. Salavaggione also held several roles at the Mayo Clinic, including a research associate in 2005, an instructor from 2004 to 2005, a senior research fellow from 2003 to 2005, and a fellow from 2000 to 2005. The Mayo Clinic is a nonprofit organization dedicated to clinical practice, education, and research, providing expert care for complex medical conditions. It operates major campuses in Minnesota, Arizona, and Florida, offering integrated healthcare services and cutting-edge treatments to patients worldwide. Earlier in his career, he was also a Teaching Assistant with the Department of Pharmacology from 1996 to 2000. He also contributed to the field through written works, having authored “The Concise Encyclopedia of Genomic Diseases,” which serves as a comprehensive reference for students in medicine, biology, molecular biology, genomics, and bioinformatics, as well as for physicians and biological scientists. Its primary objective is to educate these professionals in genomic disease prevention and enhance their understanding of the genomic foundations underlying clinical knowledge. In light of his impressive undertakings, he won the Presidential Training Award in Pharmacogenomics in 2002 and 2004, which recognizes top trainees and researchers in clinical pharmacology for their outstanding contributions to pharmacogenomics research, specifically focusing on drug response and personalized medicine​.

Reflecting on his path, he laid a solid educational foundation, earning a Doctor of Medicine at the University of Buenos Aires in 1999. He is passionate about the field of medicine and enjoys understanding new things. He takes great pride in establishing PGx Software LLC and A.I. Genomic Resources. These entities are dedicated to studying human migration, delving into migration patterns, the underlying reasons for movement and how individuals adapt to new environments. He attributes his success to the people who trained him and his family. In the coming years, he aims to create accessible systems for people. He also wants to continue his work in software development. In advising aspiring professionals, he says it is important to understand the importance of collaboration.
