From 2022 to 2023, Dr. Adeshola worked as a tele-mental health therapist with Foresight Mental Health in California. In this position, she provided remote counseling services, adapting her approach to meet clients’ evolving needs as telehealth became increasingly vital. Dr. Adeshola’s ability to connect with clients virtually underscored her adaptability and dedication to client-centered care.
Between 2019 and 2021, Dr. Adeshola served as an LPHA 3-MCOT at The Harris Center for Mental Health and IDD in Houston, Texas. There, she played a critical role in crisis intervention and assessment for individuals experiencing acute mental health challenges. Dr. Adeshola’s work contributed significantly to the well-being of vulnerable populations within the region by frequently traveling to patients’ homes to conduct assessments and transport them to the hospital when necessary.
Highly educated, Dr. Adeshola received a bachelor’s degree in English with a minor in sociology from Prairie View A&M University, followed by a Master of Education with a concentration in counseling on campus. She also earned a Doctor of Philosophy from Walden University in 2025. These academic credentials have provided Dr. Adeshola with a comprehensive understanding of human behavior and communication, which have been central to her effectiveness as a therapist. Additionally, she is a licensed professional counselor with the Texas State Board of Examiners of Professional Counselors, under the Texas Behavioral Health Executive Council, underscoring her commitment to maintaining high ethical standards in her profession.
Active within professional circles, Dr. Adeshola is a member of the American Psychological Association. She also remains affiliated with Chi Sigma Iota and Sigma Tau Delta International English Honor Society. Beyond her clinical work, Dr. Adeshola is deeply involved in civic initiatives. She founded Scholarships for Children in Third World Countries through His Brother’s Keeper, demonstrating her dedication to expanding educational opportunities for underserved youth globally. She is also a supporter of the Refuge Foundation and is an active member and volunteer for cancer awareness initiatives, medical missions and the Funmi Adewole Foundation in West Africa.
Dr. Adeshola’s professional journey is further distinguished by her accomplishments as an author. In 2020, she published “Journey to a Place Called Forgiveness,” sharing insights drawn from her personal and professional experiences.
Dr. Adeshola’s career has been shaped by various influences, including her late aunt, Josie B. Thompson, an esteemed social worker who had been recognized as Social Worker of the Year in Louisiana. Her aunt’s emphasis on grace, character and individuality inspired Dr. Adeshola to cultivate these qualities throughout her life and career.
Looking ahead, Dr. Adeshola plans to become a provisional psychologist, with aspirations toward full licensure and a specialization in psychometric testing. She aims to work with children in testing fields while supporting families navigating adoption processes.
