Dr. Anderson’s academic journey began with a Bachelor of Science in environmental sciences from the University of California, Berkeley, in 2009. He earned a Doctor of Medicine from the University of California, Davis, in 2014, an experience that fostered a deep connection to Sacramento and inspired his ongoing commitment to serving the local community. Subsequently, Dr. Anderson completed residency training in internal medicine at the University of California, San Francisco, from 2014 to 2017, followed by selection as chief resident between 2017 and 2018. From there, he continued his postgraduate training with a fellowship in cardiovascular disease from 2018 to 2021 and completed a fellowship in interventional cardiology in 2022 at the University of California, San Francisco. These rigorous programs provided him with advanced skills that have been pivotal to his success as an interventional cardiologist.
In addition to his degrees, Dr. Anderson holds several professional credentials. He has maintained a California medical license since 2016 and a Drug Enforcement Administration certificate since 2022. He is also board-certified in interventional cardiology, general cardiology and echocardiography, and has been board-eligible in cardiac/coronary CT since 2020.
Dr. Anderson’s professional affiliations include membership in the American College of Cardiology, the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions, and the American Heart Association. In light of his success, Dr. Anderson has been presented with several honors, including the Ernest M. Gold Award for Excellence in Internal Medicine in 2014, the T.E.A.C.H. Award in 2019 and the University of California, San Francisco, Fellow Teaching Award in 2022. The inspiration for his career stems from his father, who practiced family medicine in San Diego for over three decades.
