Dr. Hogan’s illustrious career in the healthcare industry is marked by his unwavering commitment to innovation and integrity. In 2025, he founded Ripple Healthcare Consulting LLC in Atlanta, Georgia. Prior to founding Ripple, Dr. Hogan served as director of medical affairs at Taysha Gene Therapies, a clinical-stage biotechnology company based in Dallas, Texas, from 2024 to 2025. During his tenure, he played a key role in advancing medical strategy and driving innovation. From 2022 to 2024, he was associate director of medical affairs at Reata Pharmaceuticals Inc., now known as Biogen, where he led a small team responsible for the company’s medical affairs strategy. Earlier in his career, he held roles as associate director of medical science liaison for migraine at Biohaven Ltd. from 2019 to 2022 and senior medical science liaison at Flexion Therapeutics in 2018.
Dr. Hogan’s academic journey laid a strong foundation for his professional success. He earned a Bachelor of Science in psychology with a focus on cognitive psychology and a minor in chemistry, from Duke University in 2005. He went on to earn his MD from the University of Kentucky in 2012. He subsequently completed research fellowships in the emergency department at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles from 2012 to 2015. His education has profoundly shaped his expertise in neurology and healthcare strategy.
Outside of his professional work, Dr. Hogan is actively involved in civic and alumni organizations. He has served on the Duke Young Alumni Development Council since 2015 and has been a cohort member of the Ripple-LA Pilot Test since 2017. He also represents Duke Black Alumni. Earlier, from 2012 to 2015, he volunteered with Healthy African American Families II, a nonprofit dedicated to improving health outcomes for African American, Latino, and Korean communities in Los Angeles County.
As a seasoned researcher, Dr. Hogan has contributed to several peer-reviewed scientific journals and presented at numerous medical conferences. His holistic approach to bridging Western and Eastern philosophies is also reflected in a book he authored.
Among Dr. Hogan’s most notable achievements are leading two successful biotech company buyouts in a row and obtaining FDA approval for several life changing therapies. He also takes pride in building strong, empathetic teams and cultivating a trusted professional network. In recognition of his impact, he has received several honors, including the Team Player Award, and Innovative Thinker Award from Biohaven Ltd., as well as the Leadership Masterclass Award from Reata Pharmaceuticals Inc.
