Earlier, Dr. Angle founded a group of occupational medicine centers, which he promoted until its acquisition by one of the world’s largest health care companies. Despite the company’s eventual collapse due to financial misconduct by its executives, his vision for revolutionizing health care in America was inspired by a chance encounter with an insurance executive. This experience led Dr. Angle to take a temporary hiatus from the industry before re-engaging in response to the ongoing health care crisis.
Dr. Angle’s academic journey began at Brother Martin High School in New Orleans, where he graduated in 1972. He then pursued a Bachelor of Science in zoology at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, graduating in 1976. His passion for medicine earned him an MD from Louisiana State University in Shreveport in 1980. He was also a fellow of the American Board of Emergency Medicine. These academic achievements laid the foundation for Dr. Angle’s successful career and have been pivotal in his ability to navigate the industry.
Throughout his career, Dr. Angle has been driven by his unwavering faith, attributing his accomplishments to a divine plan. This belief has been a guiding force in his professional journey and personal life, providing him with strength and purpose.
One of Dr. Angle’s most notable achievements was receiving the Frist Humanitarian Award as a traveling doctor on a three-month assignment that extended to five years. The award recognizes individuals at HCA Healthcare who demonstrate commitment and caring that go above and beyond. In Dr. Angle’s fourth year, he was recognized among 350 doctors at the hospital, both permanent and visiting, for his exceptional contributions to patient care with a First Award. This accolade is particularly significant to him, given that it is uncommon for temporary doctors to receive such recognition.
Among other accolades, Primary Partners was awarded the Social Determinants of Health (SDOH) Points of Light recognition by KLAS Research for addressing social determinants of health (SDOH) and enhancing whole-person care, a testament to Dr. Angle’s hard work.
