Dr. McLean, an expert in integrative medicine and seasoned doctor of oriental medicine and acupuncture physician, has been maintaining her private practice for over 35 years. Relying on oriental medicine as her primary healing tool, she has been instrumental in focusing on the imbalances that need to be corrected and creating relationships with her patients’ body, mind and spirit. Before becoming a physician, Dr. McLean garnered success as a registered nurse for about 20 years, beginning in 1967, amassing over 50 years of dedication to the health care field. She also garnered success in other roles, including as a consultant in pain management at Woodview Calabasas Hospital in Calabasas, California, and as an instructor at the Bresler Center in Santa Monica, California.

In preparation for her future, Dr. McLean received a Bachelor of Science in nursing from Duke University in 1967, a master’s degree in counseling from Pepperdine University in 1977 and a Doctor of Oriental Medicine from California Acupuncture College in 1986. She also received certification in orthopedic acupuncture from Emperor’s College of Traditional Oriental Medicine, licensure as an acupuncture physician in Florida, and additional training in energy medicine, energy psychology and shamanic healing.

Adding to her professional expertise, Dr. McLean remains active in several industry-related organizations, including the International Association of Top Professionals (IAOTP). Apart from her work-related accomplishments, she authored a significant book about her personal journey, family influences and the historical context of the practice of acupuncture titled “Integrative Medicine: The Return of the Soul to Healthcare” in 2017 via Balboa Press. The book delves into the potential of integrative medicine and her passion for healing and holistic care. Dr. McLean previously co-authored “Principles and Practice of Pain Management” in 1993 and “Manual of Chinese Medicine and Massage” in 1985. Additionally, she was recognized with a Lifetime Achievement Award from IAOTP in 2022. Inspired by her parents’ careers in medicine and nursing, the influence and compassion they demonstrated continue to propel her forward.
