Her responsibilities include providing comprehensive care for critical patients in the ICU, addressing family dynamics, and offering support while coordinating with multidisciplinary providers to navigate challenges. Her experience also includes a pulmonary and critical care fellowship at UMass Chan Medical School, T.H. Chan School of Medicine, University of Massachusetts from 2010 to 2013, an internal medicine residency at St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center, School of Medicine, Tufts University Boston from 2007 to 2010, and a post-doctoral fellowship at Vermont Lung Center, Larner College of Medicine, University of Vermont in 2007. Laying an educational foundation, she earned her general medicine degree from Congresul Universității de Medicină și Farmacie “Carol Davila” din București in 2003 and is board-certified in internal medicine, critical care, and pulmonary medicine. She also dedicates her time as a member of the American Thoracic Society, the American College of Chest Physicians, and the European Respiratory Society.
Reflecting on her path, Dr. Cojocaru’s greatest success comes from educating patients about their beliefs and helping them understand how to manage their conditions effectively. Many patients seek her out through referrals, valuing her ability to communicate openly and make them feel heard and understood. She attributes her success to her teachers, who served as role models, as well as her love for humanity, compassion, empathy, determination to make a difference, curiosity, and courage. Additionally, she drew inspiration from her father, who is an agricultural engineer, and her mother, a nurse. Looking to the future, she aims to train future medical professionals to improve patient care by building strong connections with their patients. For aspiring professionals, she advises immersing themselves in patients’ experiences, emphasizing that having empathy, fostering trust, and creating meaningful relationships helps to enhance care.
