Laying a solid educational foundation, she earned a Doctor of Optometry from The University of Alabama at Birmingham in 2005, completed a residency at James H. Quillen VA Medical Center from 2004 to 2005, and is certified by the American Board of Certification in Medical Optometry and the American Board of Optometry. She is also a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry and a member of the American Optometric Association.

In the coming years, she plans to establish a specialized dry eye center or clinic that will provide comprehensive eye care. She also intends to build a team to support the practice and, in addition to expert care, plans to offer educational resources and personalized coaching to help her patients better understand and manage their conditions.
