With nearly a decade of experience, Dr. Holland has built a successful career in optometry, specializing in cornea care, scleral lenses, myopia control, and keratoconus treatment. Since 2015, he has excelled as an optometrist at the Cornea and Contact Lens Institute of Minnesota, where he provides comprehensive eye care and performs complex cornea surgeries. He fits approximately 1,200 patients annually with scleral lenses, manages 50-75 corneal crosslinking cases per year, and mentors 4th-year optometry students. He oversees a team of five staff members and collaborates with an ophthalmologist for surgical procedures. Recently, he expanded his practice by adding a full-time optometrist to the team.
Additionally, Dr. Holland is an active member of the Scleral Lens Education Society, Coopervision Residency Summit, Southern College of Optometry Private Practice Club, Midwest States Optometry Panel for Private Practices, Minnesota Optometric Association, and Minnesota Contact Lens Society Symposium. He serves on the board of directors for the Minnesota Contact Lens Society and volunteers as a coach for grade and high school wrestling programs, in mentorship programs, and at speaking engagements. Additionally, he acts as a key opinion leader for several manufacturers, conducting clinical research and sharing insights.
In light of his impressive undertakings, Dr. Holland was honored as Minnesota’s Young Optometrist of the Year in 2024, received the CooperVision Best Practices Honoree in 2023, and is also a fellow of the Scleral Lens Education Society. He laid a strong educational foundation for these successes, earning a bachelor’s degree in biology from Augustana College in 2010 and a Doctor of Optometry from the Illinois College of Optometry in 2015. Looking to the future, he plans to expand his practice into a larger space and focus on highly specialized cases while developing his non-profit organization. He is committed to ongoing clinical research and aims to enhance his clinical skills to provide the best patient care possible. His long-term goals include staying at the forefront of optometry advancements, especially in custom contact lenses, keratoconus management, and myopia control. He regularly beta tests new lenses and products, ensuring his practice remains cutting-edge and contributes to the field’s progress.
