An esteemed expert in the field of environmental health with a wealth of professional experience, Dr. Zilli Vieira has excelled at Harvard University as a research associate in environmental health for the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health since 2019, an undergraduate teaching assistant since 2022, an instructor in environmental health for the Harvard T.H. Prior to these positions, she was active in the aforementioned school of public health as a research fellow in environmental health from 2015 to 2019, a graduate teaching assistant in environmental physiology in 2018, a teaching assistant in water pollution and diseases in 2019, and a guest lecturer in water pollution from 2019 to 2020. Dr. Zilli Vieira initially began her career in the São Paulo region in Brazil as a dental surgeon with the Alvesi & Alvesi Dental Clinic from 2002 to 2004, after which time she served as guest lecturer with Faculdade São Leopoldo Mandic in 2006, a dental surgeon with Odontologia Futura Dental Clinic from 2009 to 2015, and a post-doctoral fellow in environmental pathology with the Faculty of Medicine at the University of São Paulo from 2012 to 2017.

To support her professional ambitions, Dr. Zilli Vieira pursued an education at São Paulo State University Júlio de Mesquita Filho, from which she graduated with a Doctor of Dental Surgery in dentistry in 2001. She continued her academic efforts with a Doctor of Philosophy in cardiovascular science at the Medical School University of São Paulo in 2009. During this time, she completed research on the effect of galactic cosmic rays and solar cycles on human health, especially regarding the increase in infectious diseases and the re-emergence of the Spanish Flu, which propelled her to Harvard University. Dr. Zilli Vieira eventually concluded her studies at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health in 2019, at which point she earned a postgraduate degree in environmental health.

Dr. Zilli Vieira has attributed her success to refusing to give up on her dreams, her trust in herself, and practicing meditation. Among her most memorable accomplishments, she is incredibly proud of her projects at Harvard University investigating the interaction between ionizing radiation and pollution in the environment, as it led to the creation to a new area of study, as well as her ability to utilize her background to better understand the physiological mechanisms related to the roots of many diseases. In the coming years, she hopes to continue teaching while potentially establishing her own laboratory and writing books that can publish her findings on solar activity and the contemporary history of evolution. Moreover, Dr. Zilli Vieira aims to further investigate biological mechanisms in populations, including the link between space weather and our understanding of the inner workings of circadian rhythm.
