Rosemarie Walden Henry, MD, retired pediatrician at Kaiser Foundation Health Plan Inc., has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Doctors for dedication, achievements, and leadership in health care.
With almost 40 years of experience to her credit, Dr. Henry has excelled in the field of health care. Currently serving as a pediatrician with the MidAtlantic Physicians Medical Group, Kaiser Foundation Health Plan Inc. since 2008, she has made significant contributions to patient care. Prior to this role, she worked part-time as a pediatrician from 2006 to 2007, a clinician for Greater Baden Health Services for two years, the medical director for Independence Blue Cross for six years, and as medical director at Dr. Nelson Kent Henry’s private practice, Henry Medical Associates, for 10 years. Additionally, she served with the National Health Services Corps and Covenant Health for more than four years. Before embarking on her professional path, she earned her Doctor of Medicine from the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University in 1976, followed by a residency in general pediatrics and a fellowship in Ambulatory Pediatrics at Drexel University College of Medicine in 1979. She also received training in family therapy from the Child Guidance Resource Center.
Beyond her responsibilities within the field, Dr. Henry has been actively involved in various civic activities. She has contributed to DeafReach and is a donor to multiple organizations. She has held leadership positions, including past chair and president of the pre-med students organization. Additionally, she has been a featured writer for Leadership Magazine. Throughout her career, she has been known for her exceptional ability to connect with the families she served. One of the highlights of her career was receiving a heartfelt letter from a parent expressing profound gratitude for her unwavering dedication and care. She attributes her success to her husband, who has been a wonderful source of support and encouragement, as well as to the love and care of her parents.
Looking ahead, Dr. Henry aims to continue working with families and youth. She plans to provide guidance and support through teaching and mentoring, helping the younger generation become confident, responsible and successful individuals. She strongly believes in the importance of making a positive impact on people’s lives. In her personal life, she enjoys cooking, music, playing the piano, reading, creative writing and poetry. Her advice to aspiring medical professionals is to maintain priorities, take good care of oneself, and embrace the opportunity to make a positive impact in people’s lives every day.
