He earned a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering – biosystems from Syracuse University and furthered his studies in nuclear engineering at the University of Florida and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He earned his Doctor of Medicine from Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine, completed a fellowship in nuclear radiology at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Harvard Medical School, in 1986, and a residency in radiology-diagnostic at Baylor College of Medicine in 1990. He also holds multiple state medical licenses, including Massachusetts, Tennessee, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Kentucky, the District of Columbia and Virginia. He is board-certified in nuclear medicine by the American Board of Nuclear Medicine and in diagnostic radiology by the American Board of Radiology.

Dr. Marks’ career is marked by significant achievements, including the invention and patenting of the combined imaging scanner in 1995, now a standard tool in nuclear medicine institutions and hospitals worldwide. He attributes his success to hard work, perseverance and seizing opportunities. Notably, his approach to work-life balance ensures sustained productivity and fulfillment. Looking ahead, he plans to continue his work in interventional radiology, focusing on treating patients with tubo-ovarian abscesses. He also maintains professional memberships with the American Board of Nuclear Medicine, the American Board of Radiology and the Society of Medicine.
