He concluded his studies at the Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, completing a residency in psychiatry in 2008 and a fellowship in consultation-liaison psychiatry in 2009. He holds a New York state medical license and is a diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, Inc.
In light of his impressive undertakings, Dr. Peteru has accrued several accolades throughout his career. He was recognized as a Top Medical Doctor and awarded first prize for poster presentation by Jamaica Hospital Medical Center and the Indo-American Psychiatric Association. He attributes his success to his parents for encouraging his decision to become a doctor and to his wife for supporting his need to focus on his career growth. In the immediate future, he is determined to complete the research projects he has initiated, publish his findings, and make a meaningful contribution to his field.
