She began her career at Dartmouth-Hitchcock as a general surgery resident from 2007 to 2015 and a cardiac surgery fellow from 2015 to 2016. Before embarking on her professional path, Dr. Kopar pursued an education at St. John’s College where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in the Great Books program in 1999. She continued her academic efforts at Emory University, graduating with a Doctor of Medicine in 2007. She concluded her studies at Washington University in St. Louis, obtaining an Executive Master of Business Administration in 2023.
Beyond her responsibilities within the field, Dr. Kopar has participated in numerous endeavors outside of her professional circles. She served in the United States Navy Reserves for 8 years. In addition to her primary vocation, she remains affiliated with various organizations in relation to her areas of expertise. She was a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a member of the American College of Surgeons and the St. Louis Surgical Society.
In the immediate future, Dr. Kopar intends to expand her company and establish it as a natural presence in the industry. Additionally, she plans to contribute to the development of a body of ethics that would have the authority to certify individuals with expertise in surgical ethics. She hopes to establish an ethics committee with a set of standard procedures and prerequisites.
