Dr. Murcia garnered a stellar reputation as chief quality officer at Salud Total EPS from 2008 to 2010. In 2010, he worked at Praxair Technology, Inc. as a national quality coordinator. He contributed to Linde PLC as both a manger and a medical and quality national director from 2011 to 2015, head of medical affairs in South America from 2015 to 2016, and director and global medical manager in 2016. He established himself as health and corporate development director at Proseguir from 2016 to 2017 and as health director in business development at Colsanitas from 2017 to 2019 before immigrating to the United States later that year.
Before embarking on his professional path, Dr. Murcia pursued an education at Universidad Libre where he earned a Medical Doctorate in 2003. He continued his academic efforts at the Universitat de Barcelona, graduating with a master’s degree in management of healthcare organizations in 2017. He holds certificates from Universidad Ean in hospital administration and audit and quality assurance in health, with an emphasis on epidemiology.
Beyond his responsibilities within the field, Dr. Murcia has participated in numerous endeavors outside of his professional circles. He found success with his written works two published works and contributed to “Validation of the Multi-Independence Dimensions (MIND) Questionnaire for Prolonged Mechanically Ventilated Subjects” in 2019. He was a member of the Clinical and Medical Management Team of Remeo from 2012 to 2016 and the American Association for Respiratory Care from 2014 to 2015.
In light of his impressive undertakings, Dr. Murcia has accrued several accolades throughout his career. He was recognized for his contribution to significantly improving Remeo’s profit margins in 2013 and for his commitment and excellence in the search, preparation, development and implementation of medical records software in 2012. He received an honorable mention for obtaining the highest score in the Medicine program in the ECAES State Quality Exam at Universidad Libre, and was presented with the Global Healthcare Recognition Award in Linde, Colombia. He was bestowed a certificate of recognition by El Tunal State Social Enterprise Quality Office and awarded first place-gold for Pioneer for Progress in the Implementation of the Quality Management System by Hospital El Tunal.
