With over 35 years of experience to his credit, Dr. Strickland has excelled as owner of MHV Strickland, MD since 2000. He began his career with the Wichita Clinic where he worked for 3 years. He served for a year at the Wyoming Chest & Allergy Clinic, the Doctor’s Center of Garland, Texas, and Kansas City Allergy & Asthma Associates. He garnered a stellar reputation at the Olive Garvey Center for the Improvement of Human Functioning where he held the role of director of clinical services. Throughout his exceptional career, he operated as a private practitioner at various hospitals.

Before embarking on his professional path, Dr. Strickland pursued an education at Baylor College of Medicine where he earned a Medical Doctorate in 1974 and fellowship in pediatrics from 1974 to 1977. He completed a fellowship in adult and pediatric allergy and immunology from the National Jewish Hospital of Denver, Colorado between 1977 and 1979. Beyond his responsibilities within the field, Dr. Strickland has participated in numerous endeavors outside of his professional circles. He volunteered as a clinical associate professor at the University of Kansas Medical School.

In addition to his primary vocation, Dr. Strickland remains affiliated with various organizations in relation to his areas of expertise. He was a member of the Kansas Medical Society and the Medical Society of Sedgwick County, sat on executive boards of the Kansas College of Chinese Medicine and the Stem Cell Institute of Texas, and was a diplomate of the Board of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology and diplomate of the American Board of Pediatrics. Since 1984, he contributed as a fellow to the American Association of Certified Allergists, the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology, and the American College of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology, and at the American College of Physicians since 2007.

In light of his impressive undertakings, Dr. Strickland has accrued several accolades throughout his career. He was included in multiple editions of the Top Doctors of Wichita and his most notable achievement was successfully administering mesenchymal stem cells to a patient with muscular dystrophy for several years. He is seeking authorization from the Food and Drug Administration to continue his work, the topic of which is the subject matter of an upcoming documentary. In the immediate future, intends to join the global efforts seeking to decrease the burden of allergies affecting the population.
