Susan Rose Wood, DNP, Regional Allied Health Director at Envision Physician Services and Neonatal Nurse Practitioner with Centura Health, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Doctors for dedication, achievements, and leadership in nursing and health care administration.
With more than 35 years of professional experience to her credit, Dr. Wood has excelled since 1989 as a neonatal nurse practitioner for Centura Health. Her areas of expertise include neonatal care, delivery room care and resuscitation. Since 2019, she has found success as the regional allied health director of Envision Physician Services. In her current capacity, Dr. Wood is responsible for 12 intensive care nurseries across her home state of Colorado. As an accomplished medical educator in addition to her nursing practice, she shares her knowledge as an instructor at Regis University. Dr. Wood began her career as a registered nurse with Humana Hospital in 1985, remaining in this position until 1994.
In preparation for her professional pursuits, Dr. Wood attended Arapahoe Community College and earned an Associate of Arts in Nursing in 1984. In 2004, she graduated from the University of Phoenix with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, after which she matriculated at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs. In 2007, Dr. Wood obtained a Master of Science in Nursing, and in 2019, she graduated cum laude with a Doctor of Nursing Practice from Regis University. Alongside her formal degrees, she is a Certified Neonatal Resuscitation Instructor. To keep abreast of her field, Dr. Wood maintains membership with the National Association of Neonatal Nurses and the National Clinician Advisory Board. In her spare time, she enjoys outdoor activities including skiing, hiking, golfing and trap shooting.
