Timothy M. Gardner, MD, FACC, General Cardiologist, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Doctors for dedication, achievements, and leadership in cardiology.
With more than 25 years of experience to his credit, Dr. Gardner has found success since 2021 as a self-employed general cardiologist. Prior to this role, he garnered experience as an interventional cardiologist at the Nebraska Heart Institute and Heart Hospital from 2019 to 2021. From 2008 to 2019, he was an interventional cardiologist at the Bryan Heart Institute, and from 1996 to 2008, he excelled as an interventional cardiologist with an internal medicine group in Cheyenne, Wyoming.
In preparation for his career, Dr. Gardner earned a bachelor’s degree in biology and chemistry from Portland State University in 1984. In 1989, he graduated from the Baylor College of Medicine with a Doctor of Medicine, after which he completed an internship in internal medicine at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in 1990. From 1992 to 1996, Dr. Gardner completed his residency and a fellowship in cardiovascular disease and interventional cardiology at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.
Dr. Gardner attributes his success to the support of his wife, a fellow healthcare professional. Initially, he planned to pursue a career in engineering, but after becoming fascinated with the idea of engineering an artificial heart, he found the field of cardiology combined his interests. Among his accomplishments, he is incredibly proud of his reputation for working on high-risk cardiological interventions, including using the Impella device.
Alongside his primary roles, Dr. Gardner has maintained affiliation as a fellow of the American College of Cardiology. For his professional excellence, he was the recipient of a Teacher of the Year award. He hopes to spend more time with his family and travel more in the coming years. In his spare time, Dr. Gardner enjoys fishing.
