Following this accomplishment, he went on to attain a Doctor of Medicine at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in 1968, and was subsequently bestowed with a Master of Business Administration in health systems management at Nova University in 1985. Graduating with a Master of Science in health administration in 1990, Dr. Smolar has likewise received extensive certification in his various areas of expertise via the American Board of Clinical Lipidology, the American Board of Internal Medicine, the American Board of Quality Assurance and Utilization Review and the National Board of Medical Examiners, among several other official bodies. Equally skilled in the field of finance, he is also a chartered life underwriter, financial consultant and planner.
Throughout the course of his career, Dr. Smolar is most proud to have earned distinction through the actual practice of medicine, and of the relationships he forged with his patients. Witnessing their journey back to full health has long stood as one of his greatest achievements. In accounting for his success, Dr. Smolar largely credits the influence of his college studies, which did much to prepare him for his career in medicine.
