With nearly four decades of experience to his credit, Dr. Sills has thrived in the field of medicine. Specializing in neonatal and perinatal medicine, he has primarily operated as a clinical professor at the University of California, Irvine since 1984. A proven expert in his chosen industry, he excels in teaching medical residents, nurses and other students in various procedures for caring for critical newborns. To wit, during his extensive tenure at the institution, Dr. Sills has played an instrumental role in training more than 100 neonatal fellows who are now practicing throughout the United States.

Adjacent to his primary duties, Dr. Sills has also served as the president of the Neonatal Consultants, a Medical Corporation since 1991. Furthermore, in 2010, he became the senior neonatologist at Pediatric Subspecialty Faculty Inc. As part of his clinical work, he provides a wealth of care services for intensive care nurseries, in addition to providing further training to other rising specialists in his field. As part of his dedication to his industry, Dr. Sills also remains affiliated with the American Academy of Pediatrics and the California Association of Neonatologists.

Prior to embarking on his vocational journey, Dr. Sills cultivated his own higher education, earning an MD at Northwestern University in 1979. He subsequently completed his residency in pediatrics at the University of California, Irvine in 1982. Additionally, he completed a residency in neonatal-perinatal medicine at the University of California, San Diego in 1984. Well-regarded for his professional and academic achievements, Dr. Sills was recently honored with the Physicians of Excellence Award from Orange County in 2022.

In light of his fulfilling career, Dr. Sills has largely attributed his success to his passion and love for his profession. To wit, he has always found his work to be highly rewarding, as it is ever changing and offers him many opportunities to help others. Accounting for his accomplishments, he is particularly proud of everything he has done as an educator, especially in regards to teaching complex material to his students, which will allow them to save lives in the field. Looking to the future, Dr. Sills hopes to retire at the end of 2023.
