Before embarking on his professional path, Dr. Kennedy pursued an education at Furman University, earning a Bachelor of Science in 1976. He continued his academic efforts with a master’s degree in immunology and parasitology at the University of Florida in 1984. He concluded his studies at the University of Miami in 1984, graduating from the Leonard M. Miller School of Medicine with a Doctor of Medicine. In addition to these accomplishments, Dr. Kennedy became certified as a pediatrician by the American Board of Pediatrics.
Beyond his primary responsibilities, Dr. Kennedy remains associated with various organizations in relation to his areas of expertise. A fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics, he has also been affiliated with the American Medical Association, the Florida Medical Association, the Florida Pediatrics Society and the Brevard County Medical Society. Likewise, he has been selected for inclusion by the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society, the Phi Beta Kappa Society and the Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi. Dr. Kennedy has attributed his success to his confidence, his physical tolerance, his desire to care for children on a daily basis and his extraordinary resolve to become a doctor. Having fostered a longstanding interest in science, he was drawn to his field by the job security of the field of medicine in the wake of a bleak economic future showcased by the events of the 1970s, as well as his need to care for his mother, who had developed a delicate health condition. Proud to have been one of the pioneering full-time hospitalists in Michigan, he is proud to work as a general pediatrician and acquire expertise in pediatrics, obstetrics and anesthesia over the years. Looking toward the future, Dr. Kennedy hopes to eventually retire and dedicate his time to his family, who have supported his career every day.
