With several decades of experience to his credit, Dr. Swayne has cultivated a fulfilling career in the health care industry. Specializing in nuclear medicine and radiology, he was the vice chairman of radiology at the Morristown Medical Center in New Jersey from 1983 to 2021, having recently retired from the role. During his time at the institution, he also served as the attending radiologist. Furthermore, from 1988 to 1994, he was an associate clinical professor at Columbia University in New York City. As part of his commitment to his profession, Dr. Swayne remains affiliated with several industry-related organizations, including the Radiological Society of North America and the American College of Radiology.
At the onset of his career, Dr. Swayne worked at the Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where he completed his residency in diagnostic radiology between 1979 and 1982 and a fellowship in in nuclear medicine between 1982 and 1983. Prior to embarking on his vocational journey, he pursued a formal education, ultimately achieving an MD at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey in 1979. Well-regarded for his accomplishments in the field, Dr. Swayne was inducted into the Garden State Society of Nuclear Medicine Technology Hall of Fame in 2002. Accounting for his achievements, he largely attributes his success to the support of his wife, as well as his dedicated work ethic, perseverance and interest in learning.
