In addition to providing high quality care, Dr. Casta also oversees educational training for her patients and fellow professionals, especially regarding the use of medical cannabis.
Over the course of her career, Dr. Casta has also worked with several United States national teams as a physician, including the ski team since 2016 and the judo team since 2015. Prior to her current appointments, she excelled as the primary care sports medicine physician for the orthopedic surgery department at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital from 2015 to 2020. Furthermore, at the onset of her career, she was an urgent care physician for Concentra Inc. from 2013 to 2018.
As part of her dedication to her profession, Dr. Casta remains affiliated with several industry-related organizations, including the American College of Sports Medicine and the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine. Prior to embarking on her professional journey, she pursued a formal education, ultimately earning a Doctor of Medicine, magna cum laude, at the San Juan Bautista School of Medicine in Puerto Rico in 2011. Additionally, Dr. Casta completed her residency in family medicine at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine in 2014 and a fellowship in sports medicine at the Boston Medical Center in 2015.
Well-regarded for her accomplishments in the field, Dr. Casta was honored as a fellow in the American Academy of Family Physicians in 2018. In light of her fulfilling career so far, she has largely attributed her success to her perseverance and the support of her family. Accounting for her achievements, she is particularly proud of her role as the physician for the United States judo and ski teams, with which she has been able to travel both nationally and internationally.
