Ivelisse Lopez, MD, Gastroenterologist at the Center for Digestive Health, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Doctors for dedication, achievements, and leadership in inflammatory bowel disease treatment and gastroenterology.
With decades of experience to her credit, Dr. Lopez currently excels as a gastroenterologist at the Center for Digestive Health. She previously garnered experience as chief of gastroenterology at the Orlando VA Medical Center for five years. For eight years, she was chief of gastroenterology at the Orlando Regional Medical Center.
In preparation for her career, Dr. Lopez attended the University of Puerto Rico Medical School and graduated with a Doctor of Medicine in 1995. She completed a residency in internal medicine at Washington University’s Barnes-Jewish Hospital and a fellowship in gastroenterology, hepatology and nutrition with the MD Anderson Physicians Network. Dr. Lopez is also board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and the organization’s Gastroenterology Board.
Dr. Lopez has received numerous honors and accolades in recognition of her professional excellence. In 2022, Orlando Magazine named her to the 10 Top Doctors in Central Florida. She maintains affiliation with the American College of Gastroenterology, the American Gastroenterological Association and the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy.
Dr. Lopez attributes her success to being sensitive to her patients’ needs. She was named Teaching Attendee of the Year during her first year of practice, an honor she considers among the highlights of her career. In the coming years, Dr. Lopez hopes to return to Puerto Rico, work there part time and ultimately retire. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling.
