Having accrued more than 24 years of professional experience, Dr. Cassidy excells as an owner of three businesses. He has served as a physician and co-owner of Aishling Obstetrics and Gynecology since 2006, specializing in robotic gynecological surgery while providing pregnancy care and performing a variety of procedures. He is also a co-owner of Fox Valley Vein Center, where he treats varicose vein disease. At his third business, A Beautiful Weight Management and Medical Spa, he sees patients for medical weight loss and cosmetic procedures.
Dr. Cassidy has also served as the department chair for Obstetrics and Gynecology for Ascension Mercy Hospital since 2015. He previously was the chief of staff for Northwestern Medicine Valley West Hospital for two years, where he continues to be an active Obstetrician and Gynecologist. Moreover, he is a member of the medical staff at Edward Hospital and Rush Copley Hospital. He notably works as a national proctor with Intuitive Robotic Surgery and has served as an expert witness in court proceedings.
Before beginning his private career, Dr. Cassidy served honorably in the U.S. Air Force, from which he was awarded a scholarship to support his pursuit of medical school. He earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Bucknell University in 1993 and subsequently an MD from Emory University School of Medicine in 1998. He then completed a residency program in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Mercy Medical Center. Highly skilled in his field, Dr. Cassidy is board-certified in obesity medicine from the American Board of Obesity Medicine and in Obstetrics and Gynecology from the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. He held a state medical license in South Carolina from 2002 to 2006 and now holds a medical license in Illinois. Looking toward the future, Dr. Cassidy plans to complete his accreditation to become a master robotic surgeon.
To commemorate his many professional accomplishments, Dr. Cassidy was named the Most Compassionate Doctor by the American Registry and was voted chief resident during his residency program. He received an award from Ascension Mercy Hospital for performing 500 robotic surgeries during his tenure. Additionally, he was admitted as a fellow to the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.
In the coming years, Dr. Cassidy intends to continue developing his practices and his medical spa, adding more services and positions as the businesses continue to grow. He will work to keep his businesses independent, rather than joining larger hospital systems.
