Brandon Hecht, DO, Family Physician at Prisma Health and Adjunct Assistant Professor at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Doctors for dedication, achievements, and leadership in health care and medical education.
In preparation for his career, Dr. Hecht attended Covenant College, graduating in 2007 with a bachelor’s degree in biology with a minor in chemistry. He continued his education at the Nova Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine, obtaining a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine in 2012, and completed his residency in family medicine with the Eisenhower Army Medical Center in 2015. Dr. Hecht was certified in family medicine by the American Board of Family Medicine, and since 2019 he has been a family physician and practice chief with Prisma Health in South Carolina. Alongside this post, he has shared his knowledge as an adjunct assistant professor with the University of South Carolina School of Medicine since 2020.
Dr. Hecht is the recipient of numerous honors and accolades, including being a two-time recipient of the United States Army Commendation Medal. After serving as the medical director of the Blanchfield Army Community Hospital, he received an honorable discharge from the United States Army at the rank of major and holds a Meritorious Service Medal. Dr. Hecht authored a book chapter in the 2017 edition of “5-Minute Clinical Consult” and has contributed his spare time as a volunteer with urgent care clinics and a local homeless shelter. He attributes his success to his wife’s support and his passion for offering the best care possible to patients. Among his accomplishments, Dr. Hecht is proudest of his family, including his wife of 15 years and his three children.
