Prior to embarking on her vocational journey, Dr. Halsey pursued a formal education, achieving a Bachelor of Science in biochemistry at Lee University in 2010 and an MD at The University of Tennessee Health Science Center in 2014. In addition to her academic credentials, she is also certified in human subjects research, having completed the Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI) Program in 2021. As part of her dedication in the field, she also maintains memberships with the American Society of Craniofacial Surgeons, the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, and the American Cleft Palate-Craniofacial Association. In light of her fulfilling career, Dr. Halsey attributes much of her success to the love and support of her parents, which helped her develop a strong focus and drive. In the coming years, she hopes to serve as a teacher for hospital residents, or as an assistant professor within her current organization or at the University of South Florida.
